Affordable Art Fair NYC (AAF NYC) and The Art Therapy Project (TATP) have been collaborating since 2015. After a 3 year pandemic hiatus from in-person collaborations, the TATP team proposed we reunite in 2024.The goal was to promote the power of art therapy and give space to spread awareness of TATP’s mission of providing group art therapy for those in need of mental health services.I lead the design and facilitation of the community art-making installation made of individual paper flower petals. Each petal was filled by AAF NYC visitors in response to a spring renewal directive prepared by TATP art therapists. The center of the flower was created by staff members. The final piece resembled a large scale flower, symbolizing the unity and strength of everyone’s revived in-person togetherness.
